Entry 114: The Violinist

On and on and on she plays

Every nightmare you’ve ever had

Fueled by the tune of her song

The Violinist knows all your fears

Every time she plays a beat

You will twist and turn in sleep filled suffering

A smile very sweet

The young violinist plays a concert you won’t forget

The sound of her violin creating your nightmare fueled insanity!

Should you dream of her twisted smile

It’ll be the last thing you see

Dragged to the darkest depths of your imagination

Trapped there eternally

There will be no escape for you

Just an eternity of nightmares from which…

…You will never wake…

    • I love the violin! I have a great deal of respect for souls capable of playing it. I think all music and instruments can be associated with really anything, but typically I think of the violin as a beautifully dark instrument.

Thank you so much for reading and for your thoughts.

      Cheers! ^_^

  1. I’ll mirror what the others are saying, at the risk of being unoriginal. The violin has always been a melancholy instrument for me, or an extremely uplifting one. In certain pieces a violin feels as if it is reverberating with feelings of sadness and longing. In uplifting pieces the violin will make me smile. Ashokan Farewell is a piece that has often moved me to the verge of tears. As someone who has spent a majority of his life away from the people he loves, this song really increases those feelings of homesickness sometimes.

    • What a delightful and insightful thing for you to share with me and the others who may read this. I would say more but you have so summarily summed up your feelings, I am a tad caught off guard. At the very least, thank you!

I truly appreciate your reading and your thoughts. I definitely don’t find your thoughts unoriginal. I can smile, and be moved to tears by the violin. I think it is an amazing instrument. It evokes many emotions and yet I feel it is not fully appreciated not only by those who listen to it, but quite often it is not played to the full potential of those who use it.

It is an instrument I feel rarely gets justice.

Ah well, I’m rambling for sure now…

      Thank you.

      Cheers! ^_^

    • OH MY GOD! Forgive my freak out, but yeah. That is a huge compliment! Thank you so much! It is so cool that you are a violinist and you like the poem!

      *Ahem*

I mean, thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed the poem. I will check out your blog here shortly. I’m very intrigued by the fact you are a violinist, and if that has nothing to do with your blog, I’m still very interested in checking it out because I like checking out new stuff.

Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words!

      Cheers! 🙂

      • No worries! I enjoy it so far! Also, I’m lucky, I’ve never had a need to have my wisdom teeth pulled. My wife did though (all of them) and she had to make quite a few trips for that.

I remember how that was for her. I can imagine how it must have been for you.

        Cheers! ^_^
