Entry 82: A Killer View #1: I Work With You

You pass by me everday

You don’t even blink

I’m faceless in many ways

I mean it’s not like you are going to see me until it’s too late

You go home at night, I prepare to strike

You sleep soundly in bed

I’ve just taken off someone’s head!

The next day we go to work

You never knowing what I do

Or that I work at the desk just across from you.

    • Thank you for your honest thoughts. There will be other poems in the future in regards to A Killer View. I will keep your critique in mind and hopefully when I address the view of a killer in the future, I can better capture your attention.

      Thank you again.

      Cheers! ^_^

  1. Little works like this are great in a number of ways. What I see you doing is demonstrating the ability to write from a variety of archetype points of view. This is a creepily skillful bit of prose. I’m looking forward to more of this. If you haven’t read it yet, I really think you’ll like Dan Wells’s John Cleaver series. It matches the time of this prose.

    • Thank you kindly! I am glad you enjoyed this Entry. I will look into the series you speak of. Thanks for the recommendation. 🙂 I am always looking for something new to read. I also believe perspective can be a fun thing to toy with.

It can also make things fresh.

      Cheers! ^_^

  2. This is another great entry from you. Short but with a nice little cut at the end. You have a way of quickly slicing into the meat and pulling me along.

“Or that I work at the desk just across from you.” I love this final line because most of us have had that co-worker (or been that person ourselves). There’s always the one person who on the surface is all smiles and teeth, but deep down, they might want to kill you and chew your flesh.

Keep up the great posts, your dark rantings are my daily escape.

    • Thank you kindly soul! I always like the thought that we never truly know who people are. Killers are everywhere, and it is very likely, somewhere out there, someone works with one and doesn’t even know it.

It was short for several reasons. I’ve addressed most (if I remember right, allergies have me in a fog) already in comments. As far as the dark rantings go, I’m doing myself a favor and taking Sunday’s off from here on out. That way I have one day to rest and do whatever else I usually don’t have time to do in life. Xp (It’s a long list).

Thank you for reading and I’m glad the darkness I write can give you an escape. That is what it is for me in many ways. ^_^

      Cheers! ^_^
